In December of 2016, Steve Bullock gave bison the green light to roam more freely outside of the boundaries of Yellowstone National Park—home to America’s largest, continuously wild bison population. NRDC has long worked with our partners in the region to protect the Yellowstone bison and get them managed more like other wildlife. In this video, we hear from Montana homeowner Karrie Taggart about what it’s like to successfully share the landscape with this iconic animal.
A changing climate isn’t a future problem – it’s ours, right now. “Unfortunately, Ready to Wear” is the joint effort of Milk and Luka Sabbat: building a movement of environmental action and empowering the next generation. “Unfortunately, Ready to Wear” is a concept collection of innovative and futuristic fashion essentials designed to adapt to the current climate change threats. This four piece collection will include prototypes that address five pressing issues related to climate change: extreme storms, heat waves, air pollution, infectious diseases, and environmental refugees.
The open ocean, called the high seas, lies outside the boundaries of any country, making up nearly two-thirds of our ocean and providing 90 percent of the habitat for all ocean life. But only about half of 1 percent of the high seas are fully protected from fishing, mining, and other human activity. Delegates from more than 100 countries met at the United Nations in New York in September 2018 to start negotiating a treaty to try to change that. Half the planet is at stake in this fight. Help us protect the precious ocean life that lives in the high seas, for generations to come.
