Back to Nature: #SolveDifferent in Easter Island. Residents of one of the world’s most isolated islands are finding innovative ways to deal with waste management, energy production and water conservation while also protecting the environment.
This video by UN Environment features three of the most exciting anti-poaching innovations of 2018. In South Africa GPS trackers developed by the Sigfox Foundation are being used to track rhino horns. In Costa Rica scientists with PasoPacifico are 3D printing decoy sea turtle eggs to find out where they are being sold. And in the UK researchers are using crime scene methods to identify poachers fingerprints on pangolin scales.
Growing older is a gift. Unfortunately that gift also comes with it’s own burdens, often meaning a lack of mobility and thus a loss of independence.
